4th with the Family

This 4th of July was so much fun. We went in to WV to spend the weekend with family.  I love my family.  Yes, sometimes they are crazy but still you have to love them.   I'm so glad that we are a close family. In recent events of my dad dieing, I realize how lucky my kids are to have family who care so much about them.   We have a big family and getting to see my kids make memories with their cousins, like I did when I was there age is great. Time is to short to take family for granted. No matter what happens in life, I know I can depend on them.

The kids with some of their cousins.

My beautiful family that God has blessed me with.  Juliet is 7, Gabe is 21/2 and Mallory is 3 months.  I can't believe how big they are getting.

Drive In.... A still thriving classic. It least in Winchester KY

Chris and I  love the Drive In.  There is one called Sky Vue Twin Drive In, in Winchester KY.  These are rare and I'm so glad this one is still surviving.  They play four movies a night, two on each screen.   Usually they will play a kid movie and then a more adult movie.  The prices are amazing.  It is only $5 for anyone  8 and older.  So for my family of 5 it cost us only $10 to watch two movies. Doesn't get any better than that.  They provide for decent prices for good food and popcorn. The area and bathrooms are clean also.  We usually arrive 2 hours early to get the good spot, which I will not disclose for fear of losing it.  Families use this time to set up.  Our Tahoe has the third row taken out and we turn the back into a bed for the kids. We bring chairs for us to sit outside. Also bring a radio that way your not having to turn your vehicle on. Its just a wonderful family friendly place to go.  If you have one in your area go support it cause they are just to awesome to let go away.

Passport to Fun at Michaels !

Where we homeschool, I'm constantly looking for thrifty and educational  things to do with the kids. Juliet's history program next year is My Fathers World Exploring Countries and Cultures.  I saw that Michaels is having a free craft event. Where you make a craft for each country.  We are so excited !  The dates are on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturdays from 11am-2pm.
Call your local Michaels just to make sure of the dates and times.

Summer is here! So is my lack of judgment on our schedule....

Well we started out spring saying "We are just doing one thing over the summer"! Cause we are always busy and summer goes by so fast and we look around and are like .. okay where did it go?? So once again I have a lack in judgment and we are as busy as can be. We have TBall on Mondays. Which is going really good. Its a league just for homeschoolers. And the best is that its on Mondays and not the weekend. This way we get to meet others who are like us . Juliet is learning how to be on a team and she's decent at hitting but still working on catching.

Then we also have her in swimming lessons. Our "life skills" goal for the summer is learning how to swim and ride her bike with out training wheels. Swimming is going great she is really starting to float, swim, and go under on her own. I love seeing her learn new things. I don't have pics of her swimming cause I usually have Gabe and my nephew that I watch also in tow.

The rest of the week is filled with church and getting ready for class, women's bible study, and just regular business of watching my nephew full time. Along with every weekend we have something going on . We just got back from a great homeschool conference where I finished getting Juliet's curriculum for 2nd grade. (I'll post all about that later)!
This weekend we are leaving for W.V. That's where I'm from and my family is having a huge family reunion there. I'm so excited! Family is one of the most important things in my life. Its one of the few things I don't take for granted.

All in all I turn around and its July and before I know it.. August will be at my door step and school starts. So I'm seriously praying I can say no more and just relax.
